In a prior post, I covered Boeing's X-45 UCAV. Here's a brief update on the program:
Boeing says that its Phantom Ray will fly to NASA’s Dryden, CA flight test center as a piggyback passenger on NASA’s Shuttle Carrying 747, as part of a Boeing-funded Commercial Space Act Agreement with NASA. Boeing decided that the Shuttle Carrier would be the most cost-effective way to transport the Phantom Ray, and developed an attachment to allow the Ray to connect to the structure that normally carries the much larger Space Shuttle.
