First two upgraded Light Armored Vehicle command and control platforms delivered by Lockheed Martin

Lockheed Martin delivered the first two of 52 upgraded command and control variants of the Light Armored Vehicle (LAV) to the U.S. Marine Corps. The upgraded LAV variant is a mobile command center providing advanced communication capabilities to Marines in the field, improving their battlefield knowledge and situational awareness.

The legacy LAV C2 platforms are provided to Lockheed Martin by the U.S. Marine Corps. Equipment integrated by Lockheed Martin includes an advanced communications suite, improved automated workstations, and command systems. Production is currently planned to be completed over the next two years.

"This highly integrated vehicle incorporates proven technology to give Marines a technically advanced capability that’s also low risk and affordable," says Steve Ramsey, vice president of Ground Vehicles at Lockheed Martin.
