DDC Expands Line of Fully Integrated Total-ACE™ MIL-STD-1553 Terminals

Data Device Corporation (DDC) is pleased to announce the introduction of additional Total-ACE™ models to now offer a complete line of options. The Total-ACE™ is the world’s first fully integrated MIL-STD-1553 component that consolidates protocol, memory, dual transceivers, and dual transformers within a single, small, cost-effective plastic BGA package. The new models include ordering options for 4K x 16 or 64K x 17 internal RAM, PCI or Local Host Bus interface, and RoHS or Leaded packages, that all include both direct and transformer coupled MIL-STD-1553 connections on a single package. With one single plastic BGA package, that is only 0.7 inch x 1.1 inch (17.78mm x 27.94mm), you can now create a complete interface to a dual redundant MIL-STD-1553 bus. The small size saves valuable space on boards and the single package allows for an easier layout.

The Total-ACE™ is powered entirely by +3.3V to minimize board space even further by eliminating the need for having multiple voltage regulators. Having just one part for a complete MIL-STD-1553 interface also increases overall reliability of boards. The Total-ACE™ series of products have successfully undergone full RT Validation. In addition to this, with the Total-ACE™ you can achieve DO-254 qualification on your end system if required. The Total-ACE™ series is fully software and hardware compatible with DDC’s Enhanced Mini-ACE®, Micro-ACE®, Micro-ACE® TE, and Mark3 series of devices.

“The new versions of Total-ACE™ demonstrate DDC’s continuous commitment to data bus innovation by integrating 1553 protocol, transceiver, and transformers into one compact package,” states Sean Sleicher, DDC’s Data Bus Marketing Manager.
