Accenture Wins Engineering Services Contract from U.S. Navy

The U.S. Navy’s Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) awarded Accenture (NYSE: ACN) a five-year, $6.3 million contract to provide engineering services covering hardware and software maintenance in support of the Navy’s efforts to modernize its ships with mission-critical systems.

The SPAWAR Integrated Data Environment and Repository (SPIDER) contract was awarded under the Navy’s SeaPort-e contracting vehicle. Under SPIDER, Accenture will deliver engineering services necessary to maintain, modify, deploy and sustain all of SPIDER’s systems.

“These services are designed to enable SPAWAR to more effectively plan, manage and execute the installation of command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (C4ISR) equipment aboard U.S. Navy ships and shore facilities,” said Vince Vlasho, Accenture senior executive and U.S. Navy account lead.

Accenture’s SPIDER services will help SPAWAR correlate logistics requirements and evaluate the information technology infrastructure of various ships to determine the most efficient and cost-effective means of delivering C4ISR equipment.

Accenture also will enhance the database architecture and provide customer and user training as well as program support. The work will be performed in San Diego.
