STREAMLIGHT ANNOUNCES WEAPON-MOUNTED LIGHT ORDER

Streamlight, Inc., a leading provider of high performance handheld, hands-free and weapon-mounted LED lights for military uses, announced that it has received an order valued at over $4 million for its TLR-VIR™, an LED weapon-mounted tactical illuminator light, from the Defense Logistics Agency’s Special Operational Equipment Tailored Logistics Support Program.  The order was placed on behalf of the U.S. Army’s Program Executive Office (PEO), the acquisition agency for the Army.

“This contract represents another major milestone in Streamlight’s rapidly expanding military and federal government sales program,” said Ray Sharrah, the company’s President and Chief Executive Officer. “We are extremely pleased that the Army qualified our light and that it will be provided to personnel deploying with weapons overseas.”

Sharrah said that the light permits users to toggle easily between bright light and an infrared (IR) illuminator, allowing personnel to stay focused on a target and remain in a proper firing position when making the transition from the IR mode to white light and vice versa.  The switching feature eliminates the need for snap-on filters or other equipment typically required for IR use.

The illuminator securely fits all long guns with MIL_STD-1913 rails, such as an M16, M4 or SCAR platforms, as well as M240 and M249 machine guns, and features a rail clamp that can be easily attached and tightened with one hand.
